Heading into Poland

Campsite 1st Night: Bialy Dom
Campsite tonight: Dawtur

We have started our foray into Poland  and I must admit that I am quite enjoying it.

It is WAY cheaper than all the countries so far and the scenery is pretty. A few observations we have made so far:

1. The roads are in a bad condition. We in South Africa defnitely can't complain about our roads! There seem to be efforts to improve them but naturally the major ones are done first so progress has been slow.

2. The polish seem to be wary of friendly people. A smile, greeting or a thank you wave is generally looked upon with utter distrust and defnitely not returned

3. The truck drivers are crazy. I've had long double axle trucks overtake me on country roads like a bat out of hell. Yikes.

4.  Seen in rural poland. Reminded me of SA ;-)

Some of my family grew up around here, as at the time this area was part of German Prussia. My grandmother still had the address and so we decided to take a drive past. I really, really hope we arrived at the right place!

We are off to visit Neustettin tomorrow (nowadays called Szcecinek) and will then try and get some mileage done direction east. We might be out of Internet for a few days so  chat soon. Missing you all xxxx
