All about Stellplätze

Today was admin and family day so we haven't travelled far at all.

The morning started off with some shopping, house chores and then general work stuff and catching up on emails. I also ended up insuring our clown-mobiles which makes me sleep just a bit better.

A visit to my Grandma for "Kaffee and Kuchen" and then off we headed to drop off a package for my dad.

Which incidently led us to this nights "Stellplatz".

Stellplätze are sites where one can overnight (The french call them Aires) - generally up to two nights depending on council / town rules. They can be anything from just a parking lot with no facilities to a site that has water, electricity and sanitation facilities. They are also generally cheaper than official campsites as they are designed for the overnighter rather than the long-term stayer.

What we have learned so far is that you want to be arriving latest 4:30pm for nice sites as any later and you might find yourself without a spot! Yesterday we pulled into a stellplatz located next to warmbaths only to have the last spot taken by a motorhome pulling in in front of us.....

But alas, this evening we had learned and were second into the site, to be joined by another six througout the evening. I also got spoilt for a massage by Timm at the local Spa :-)

So, here some impressions from our day today.
