Brantgum, The Netherlands

Welcome to the Netherlands!!!

Stellplatz: Veldzicht

Shew, what a long trip this was. In theory we only had 302km to travel and, having left at 10:30am, envisaged to arrive latest 3- / 4-ish. After various detours, a bike shop to have Timm's bike fixed, attempted shopping at Lidl (we arrived just as the doors closed) etc etc we finally reached our destination just outside Dokkum at 8:30pm.
And wow, what a beautiful part of the Netherlands this is. Dokkum is 6km from the north coast and is in a rural area, all around us are just green fields and quaint little houses!

Highlights of today include a pitstop for berries / cherries and of course crossing the border from Germany to the Netherlands.

Our Stellplatz is absolutely great - run by Willem and his wife, they have converted their backyard to a Stellplatz for 15 vehicles and clearly love it. We had barely climbed out of the vehicle before we were given information brochures, maps etc of the surrounding area and attractions. As you can see from the Goole Earth picture, we are surrounded by agriculture and nothing else!

A purchase I must mention that is proving to be great entertainment is the Fly Zapper. It is one of Timm's chores to rid Felix of all flies and one that he follows with glee!!!!
