Stellplatz: Camperpark Vogelzang, Belgium
Today was a work day - we had two students which needed to rewrite some Tests in order to become full Graduates and we had offered to meet them in Belgium.
So we met up with them in Putte, completed the testing (and did our washing ;-) and then headed out to Antwerpen for the night.
To be quite honest: Neither Timm nor I are blown away by Belgium. So far it is quite dirty, roads are worse than in CT and generally everything seems to be lacking some maintenance.
No surprises then that our Stellplatz was equally as derelict. In it's heydey it clearly used to be a Campsite with all facilities but now the toilet doors are bolted shut, only two out of the 15 or so Electricity Stations are in working order etc. etc.
One person did cheer us up though and that was the guy at reception. Seeing that we had a German Number plate, he tried to check us in in German, however when Timm had reached the gammut of his vocabulary, Timm switched to English to which he was told "NEIN, KEIN ENGLISCH".
Then Timm tried Afrikaans (close to Dutch?), to which our Reception Guy said "Aaah, Zuid Afrikaaners - Afrikaans, ya gut". Ok, Afrikaans accepted :-)
