Medieval Times (Bad Hoenning, Germany)

Stellplatz: Wellness-Rheinpark-Camping

Don't be fooled by the grand name of our spot. This campsite seems to be populated by "Permanents" looking for cheap retirement spots. 99.9% of the people here are over 70 years of age, grumpy and by the looks of it, chainsmokers. I've even seen a guy whizz past on his electric scooter incl. his portable oxygen!!

But, on our way here we came across a Village celebrating a Medieval Festival at their castle and so decided to stop and enjoy the festivities....

Below is the entry point - we got away with paying 3 Euros (instead of 7). Why? Because we were "folks who had crossed continents".... How cool is that.

Timm climbing up the steep and narrow stairs to reach the tower

The view from top

Lunch....

A kid learning all about iron-mongery and busy making her own collectable

Of course Timm had to try his hand at archery and he was shit-hot at it!

On the ferry on our way to the Campsite

I thought this was such a good idea - a herb garden for all the campers to use
